Los alumnos de 1º ESO y 3º Diver han asistido a una master class de tenis de mesa impartida por entrenadores de la Asociación Deportiva Tres Balcones de Torreorgaz. Han aprendido juegos, normas y técnicas de este apasionante deporte que engancha cada vez a más alumnos del centro que practican con gran ilusión en los recreos de la mañana. Damos las gracias a Verónica y Sergio que se mostraron muy cercanos y les dieron una visión competitiva además de recreativa del tenis de mesa

RECUPERACIÓN EDUCATIVA DE PUEBLOS ABANDONADOS. UMBRALEJO.

Nuestro planeta se encuentra sometido a grandes tensiones. Los desiertos avanzan, los bosques se destruyen, el agua potable escasea y el aire que respiramos pierde calidad. Pero el declive mundial no es inevitable. Pertenecemos a una especie inteligente con capacidad para planificar el futuro.
En el año 1972 el “club Roma”, una asociación formada por científicos, empresarios y políticos, solicitó los servicios de un grupo de investigadores para que de forma independiente elaboraran un estudio sobre las tendencias y dificultades económicas que amenazan a la sociedad mundial. El informe que se elaboró tras estas investigaciones se llamó “Informe Meadows” cuyas conclusiones fueron:
“si se continúa manteniendo el incremento de la población mundial, la contaminación, la industrialización, la explotación de los medios naturales y la producción de alimentos, sin ninguna clase de variación es probable que se llegue al límite total de crecimiento en la tierra, por lo menos durante el próximo siglo”
Urge poner límites a la acción del hombre y esto solo se consigue a través de la educación. Las nuevas generaciones deben decidir en qué mundo quieren vivir y por ello hemos de facilitarles las herramientas necesarias para que tomen sus decisiones.
Nuestra participación en el programa de con alumnos de 4º de ESO ha representado una excelente oportunidad de intercambiar experiencias encaminadas a contribuir en la formación integral de los alumnos, incorporando temas transversales al currículo, como la Educación Ambiental, Educación para la Salud, Educación para el Consumo, Educación para la Paz y Coeducacion; favoreciendo la convivencia y el trabajo en grupo.
Recuperando los valores tradicionales y aprendiendo de nuestros errores, podemos crear un mundo sostenible y habitable para las generaciones futuras.

My Erasmus Week Experience.
Hello, my name’s Tommy and I am an English Language Assistant at I.E-S Luis de Morales. At the beginning of March, I was fortunate enough to take part in the Erasmus mobility week at the school.
We started the week learning about each country’s ‘Festivals and Traditions’ as well as getting to know one another. The students then participated in a laser cutting workshop demonstrated by some of our students, which was really interesting! That same afternoon we had a demonstration at the pottery workshop of the father of one of my students. It was fascinating to see the process of making pottery and to learn more about the relationship Arroyo de La Luz has with pottery.
The following day was really special as it was an opportunity to learn more about the village I have been working at for the last 6 months. The mayor hosted us at the Ayutamiento, we visited the Iglesia Parroquial de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción and had a guided tour of the village. The next day was a great fun as I helped the students with a treasure hunt around Cáceres Old Town. In the afternoon we were very cultured as we had a guided tour around The Helga de Alvear Contemporary Art Museum; I had visited this before however having an expert explain makes one appreciate and enjoy the art even more!
On the Thursday we travelled back in time to Ancient Rome and visited Merida. As a history lover I really enjoyed this day seeing the Roman Amphitheatre. We finished this enjoyable day with lots of food kindly prepared by the parents and we were treated to some traditional folk music and dance; it was great to see some of my students taking part in the show and I really enjoyed seeing the talent on stage! The last day I tried my hand at radio presenting when I helped interview the teachers for the school’s radio programme. This was a fun experience, but I don’t think I will have my own radio show anytime soon!
Overall, I had the best week! It was a fantastic opportunity for me to learn more about different cultures, get to know my students better and have fun! More importantly though, it was amazing for me to see my students practicing their English and getting to mix with people from other countries in their own village! I would like to thank Yolanda for organising the whole week and to the school for allowing me to take part and be a student again!
